Hey, I'm Tony — a Philly-born designer who brings culture, creativity, and a touch of humor to everything I do.
I grew up in the city of murals, surrounded by art, culture, and history. My father, a Puerto Rican from Cataño, worked his way up at Philadelphia Gas Works, and my mom worked as a school crossing guard after a career at American Belt.
From a young age, I was drawn to design.
I attended APM Community Child Care Center, where I learned about Taino and Boriqua culture, art, and history. My creativity was sparked by doodling in school and immersing myself in Saturday morning cartoons.
The COVID-19 pandemic changed everything. I realized that being a successful designer doesn’t require working at an agency — you can work remotely, and that flexibility changed my approach. I took on projects like redesigning a utility company’s bill and a local gym’s website, which led me to start my own LLC. That’s how Tony Does Design came to life.
I draw inspiration from design legends like Chris Do, Aaron Draplin, Paula Scher, and Paul Rand. Their focus on simplicity, bold colors, and brand identity shapes my approach. My early love for Taino culture also plays a major role in my design style.
I’ve worked with Philly’s utility companies, public relations firms, and local brands like LVMNY. I don’t design for awards; I design because I love helping businesses grow. I value efficiency in my process, ensuring that my clients get high-quality results without wasting time.
I’ve also completed ads management, project management, and AI certifications to keep growing and deliver the best for my clients.
When I’m not designing, I’m all about family time, binge-watching shows, and drinking way too much coffee. I live in Philly with my wife, Cassie, and our daughter. Right now, I’m working out of my cozy basement studio while I build my new home office.
